![]() Protests can take the form of marches, sit-ins, boycotts, and include speeches, music, chanting, performance art, poetry, using symbols, holding signs and confronting people, assembling near symbols and in places of significance to the cause (e.g., a monument) or occupying a specific building or space. The overarching purpose of protests is to demand change. ![]() Protests can also provide inspiration and a sense of being part of a larger movement. There are a variety of potential goals for a protest: influence public opinion, draw attention to and share information about a perceived injustice, gain a wide audience for the cause, push public policy or legislation forward, learn more about an issue, connect with others who feel passionate about the issue, speak one's truth and bear witness. What are protests?Ī protest is an event or action where people gather with others to publicly express their opinions about something that is happening in society. The movement was founded by three Black women in July 2013-Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi-when White civilian George Zimmerman was acquitted for shooting and killing Trayvon Martin, when he encoountered the African American teenager who was walking to his relatives' home. Black Lives Matter is an activist movement which began as a hashtag. Overall, these protests are focusing on Black Lives Matter, racial injustice in the criminal justice system and countering systemic racism in society at large. The impact of the protests is already evident in several cities where steps are being taken toward a broader set of law enforcement reforms. In a recent poll, 74% of Americans said they support the protests that have taken place since Floyd’s killing. Tens of thousands of people also gathered in countries around the world to support the protests and show solidarity. Within days, protests were taking place in all fifty states and more than 140 cities nationwide. The first protest took place in Minneapolis, MN the night after George Floyd was killed. But it’s been fun tinkering with a tonne of mods while it lasted. In the wake of George's Floyd's murder in May 2020 by the police, protests erupted across the United States. Realistically, I’ll probably opt for Horizon and call it a day. I ditched or patched anything requiring AWKCR for ECO to lighten the load, which helps for weapons, armour and faction overhauls. It’s the heavily-scripted gameplay mods like Sim Settlements, PANPC and Conqueror that cause CTD problems.Ħ50 mods is a lot and is sitting close to the ESP & BA2 limits, regardless of heavy use of ESLify and BA2 extraction. They’re the least of my worries though as those limits are easy to manage. Of those maybe 50 are individual weapons & weapon packs, 20 armour and 20 power armour mods (for fun with Power Armor to the People, SKK Combat Settlers & SKK Combat Stalkers). I loaded up on hundreds of mods (612 without Sim Settlements Conqueror, 650+ with it) over the last month or so just to see how hard Fallout 4 can be pushed before it breaks. I did this for most BA2 files below 1MB in size and for all Workshop mods, but didn’t touch weapon, armour or overhaul mods at all. ![]() The solution is to extract small main BA2 archives into loose files while preferably leaving the textures archived. It’s easy to identify because the game will CTD at startup. You also need to look out for the BA2 limit, which is random based on individual PC specs. It’s a PITA when you break this limit and it may require jumping back a few saves to get things working again, so it’s best to avoid it. MO2 will tell you how close you are to the limit by clicking on the number of active mods to the right of the app. Just let it do it’s thing - you have the option of rolling back changes if anything breaks. The 255 ESP + ESM limit is easy to bypass using ESLify. ![]()
